Several years ago, I began a quest to do create something good after my entire universe was turned upside down. I turned to my life-long love of words. I know. I'm an egg head. But the transformation was instantaneous. I had purpose.
I wrote in Scotland. I wrote in France and Belgium. I wrote in Vermont and Boston, spending weeks recovering, leaning against walls, or crawling up stairs on my knees after these trips to see my kids, or traveling with my dear, sweet fella, Patrick. (Silly, silly fibromyalgia. I thought it was for hypochondriacs until one day I couldn't get out of bed to feed myself.)
The quest. Ah yes, the quest. It was not easy. For you, reading about Fair O'Nelli's quest in Secret Speakers and the Search for Selador's Gate is a much more pleasant task. I was interested in creating something good out of my life, but also also interested in offering something good to humanity: a story of hope overcoming doubt, faith overcoming fear, and most importantly I wanted to leave a legacy for my children.
Secret Speakers is now available for pre-order in paperback, hardcover AND audio book. Orders come complete with a free downloadable Show No Mercy Readers’ Guide that educators, counselors and book groups will be glad to have. Feel free to poke around the website. You can also read an excerpt. But the very best page is the one on which you can buy the book.
