"K.S.R. Kingworth's fascination with spiritually-oriented literature and the nature of the spiritual quest began when she was in grade school, when she taught herself to read Greek. She has always loved languages and secret codes. The foundation works of many of the world’s major religions have had a huge influence on Kingworth, including the Dammaphada, Tao de Ching, Qu’ran, the Holy Bible and most markedly, by The Book of Mormon.

Kingworth's second language is French, which she has spoken primarily for a fourth of her life. She raised her incredible children in New Orleans, Montreal then Vermont, with French spoken as the home language. Her husband and children mean the world to her.

Recently, Kingworth turned to her second career of writing full-time. Secret Speakers and the Search for Selador's Gate was born as a result.

Kingworth was born as an identical twin on March 20, 1962 in Salt Lake City, Utah. So, really, she says you don't know if it was her or her sister that wrote the big book.

Before graduating with a BA in Creative Writing from the University of Utah in 1987, Kingworth was taught by Mark Strand, former Poet Laureate of the United States. He told her one of her poems sounded like a Hallmark card, which she said sounded like a real compliment. To flesh out her studies, Kingworth studied English Literature at the University of Cambridge, in England. She ended up riding her bike through the streets just a little too much, but she really did study.
